about

Gin Palace's intended follow-up to Kicking On was the lost masterpiece 'Amusia'. Recorded in 2007, and scheduled for release on In The Red in the USA and Blast First Petite in the UK March 2008, the release was cancelled at the final mastering stage due to ill-health (etc.).. The mixed masters were not returned by the label or Mastering suite, and were believed lost when the band's own archived copy failed.

'Conscientious Objections' was an early working title, and here collects the album of 'Amusia' (tracks 1-12), with it's intended companion EP 'Walk Of Shame' along with our Suicide homage; two Suicide classics 'Frankie Teardrop' and 'Johnny' played simultaneously, and panned hard left and right. Commissioned for release as a 10" on Blast First Petite to honour Alan Vega's 70th birthday in 2008, this track too has not been heard until now.

The recordings here were sourced from a newly re-discovered CD of direct master recordings given to a family friend in Australia, Christmas 2007
